 Alicia Keys came to visit Hamburg on her "Girl on fire"tour and played in the 02 arena. It was an amazing concert and a great opportunity to take some pictures.

Types of digital Cameras

Digital Cameras

Types:

- Compact

- Digital Reflex o D-SLR

- Medium Digital Format

- Large Format

- Others

Compact Cameras: 

Are small cameras that have a reduced size. The lens can't be changed and the screen of the camera can change depending on the model. 

Digital Reflex

Digital single lens reflex system. What you see throughout the screen is exactly what you see at the end image. These are more complex cameras and more versatile than the compact. Here it is possible to change the lens and interact with various accessories.  

Medium Format

These are cameras with a reflex system which are bigger and heavier. ITs sensor or digital back up is larger than from a conventional Reflex camera and may or may not be integrated in the camera. The cost of these cameras is also higher than the previously mentioned. They are sued professionally in fashion, studio and landscape. 

Large Format

Very big and voluminous cameras. They are very flexible in their use and allow an selective focus. They use digital back ups to capture the image and are used in professional disciplines like studio, architecture or landscapes. 

Other Digital Cameras:

There are many different kind of specific cameras for different uses like panoramic or sub aquatics. 

What is photography?

Photography means painting with light and comes from the greek
photos = light, graphic =  painting.

So how does one paint with the light?

The ray of light enter a dark chamber and the image projects two times inverted on the photo sensitive material which captures the image. This process does not change from analog to digital photography, its the same just the photosensitive material is changing from film to a digital backup.

Here is one of the first photos ever taken! Of course at that time the cameras where still al lot bigger than what we use today and it took a long time to capture an image, which made it difficult to capture moving things.

How to create Panoramic Pictures with CS5 Photoshop

So we have had a lot of evolution in the last Creative Suite versions. A very easy way to do a panoramic picture with your photos is to use the tool Photomerge.

Imagine you want to do a panoramic view of a skyline. I am going to use the skyline of Dublin since I climbed a mountain this weekend outside of Dublin and we found a beautiful spot to take pictures over the city.

Heres what you have to do
1. Open Photoshop
2. File -> Automate -> Photomerge
3. Choose the files

4. Let Photoshop do the work for you.

.... wait a little bit if you have made the pictures in high quality like I did, and now I'm waiting excited to see how it looks

5. Enjoy the end result!

Facebook Timeline for pages. What does this mean for me as a SME?

This morning Facebook announced that they will start rolling out the new format of Timeline for professional pages. This is the format that you have start to see with your friends. Although it means some changes for you, it also gives you new potential and new tools to engage with your customers.
So whats the impact that this change will have on me?

Timeline Features

-Cover Photo: Its is a new wide cover image 

-Pin Posts: Anchor your most relevant posts at the upper part of your timeline for up to seven days

-Private Messages: You can improve the communication with your fans through private messages

Preview and Rollout

-Timeline will be available on March 30 but you can start previewing and making changes to your timeline. But remember on March 30 to will change automatically. 

Changes to Default Tabs
Facebok has removed this feature when a visitor hits your Fan page that he ends up first on a default landing page. The Timeline will be the default view now for your fan page. Nevertheless there will be big icons linking your custom tabs.

Changes to Wider Tabs
The available space for custom tabs has been increase from 520px to 810 px.
